COMMANDER’S COMMENTS:
Greetings Comrades,
Spring is here and our Memorial Day Parade is right around the corner. The theme of our parade this year will be "Lest We Forget!" The parade will kick off in front of the post at 1000 sharp. Any Veteran who wishes to participate may march or ride in the trailer provided. Uniforms are authorized in accordance with your branch of service's regulations. Civilian attire is also authorized and you may wear your medals/ribbons/devices. Come back to the Post after the parade for a cook out and to socialize with your comrades. Also, Lifesource will be at the post from 1200 - 1600 hours for our annual Memorial Blood Drive. If you are able, please donate and help save a life.
Nominations and elections for new officers will be held during our May Post meeting on Thursday May 13th at 1900 hours.
The new Post hours are Monday thru Friday 1300 to 2100 hours, Saturdays 1100 - 2400 hours, Sundays 1100 - 2000 hours.
The post also has two new premium beers on tap: Sam Adams Boston Lager and Leinenkugel's Honey Weiss.
Thanks to all our members who have renewed their membership and please help us out by recruiting a new member. The membership year is from August of one year to the end of July the next. 10th District set the 2010 membership goal for this post at 235 members and we currently have 183. We are all recruiters, so reach out to our community Veterans and encourage them to join our Post family.
Please call me if you have any questions concerning your Post or upcoming events. I look forward to seeing you at the meeting to make our post great. Again, please come out and support your post whenever you can.

Ladies Auxiliary
The 2010 year is started so I ask that all members please send in your membership renewals as soon as possible. You can drop it off at the Post attention Kendra Smith. Help our Unit make 100% by December by paying your dues, Thanks. For the ladies if you are not a member of the Auxiliary yet please feel free to join us. It is that time of year again when we start to celebrate with the family the holidays. I ask that you remember our Veterans and those that are on active duty.
As you read this newsletter from the Post you will see that we have a lot of activities going on at the Post in the next months. The biggest will be the Christmas party. The Ladies Auxiliary will be doing the shopping and wrapping of presents for the children again this year. We are asking you to help us by donating a roll of wrapping paper, Ribbon, bows or tape; even a pair of scissors or two for us to wrap the presents with this would be a big help to us. And if you want to have some fun, check with Ana at the Bar to find out when we are scheduled for the wrapping party and join in.
When you are at the Post watch out for the Toys-4-Tots Collection box to show arrive. Let’s help the Marine Corps program be a great success by donating a new unwrapped toy.
Remember our meetings are the Third Sunday of the month at 12:30.
Thank you for supporting the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Programs of the American Legion.
